Run it yourself

Questions

A few things people ask.

What counts as a monitor?
One recurring job you're watching — one row in config/recurring.yml, or one you add by hand. Paused monitors still count toward the cap; only deleting one frees the slot.
What happens if I go over the Free cap?
New monitors are blocked once you're at the limit — nothing existing breaks. Delete one to make room, or upgrade to Pro for 100.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancelling drops you back to Free; if you're over the Free cap you choose which monitors to keep active, and the rest are suspended (not deleted) until you're back within it.
Do I need a card to start?
No. Free needs nothing but an email address. A card is only ever needed if you choose to upgrade to Pro.
Can I self-host instead?
Always. The full app is AGPLv3 on GitHub — unlimited monitors, no account with us required. See the self-host guide.
Where does my data live?
On the hosted plans, in our PostgreSQL database, backed up regularly. Ping history is kept for 90 days on every plan. Self-hosted, it's wherever you run Postgres — entirely yours.
